Mihai Ghimpu at Moldova 1 TV debates: “Vote PL, vote PAS!”

Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberal Party (PL), is encouraging voters to support either the Liberal Party or the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28. He emphasizes that this vote is essential for maintaining the European trajectory of the Republic of Moldova. Ghimpu made this appeal during the electoral debates held on Tuesday evening, September 23, and organized by Moldova 1 TV.
According to Mihai Ghimpu, it is crucial for the Republic of Moldova to defend its European course in the upcoming elections this Sunday.
"In 2009, to rid ourselves of the communist government, we encouraged voters to support the Liberal Party (PL). If you didn't want to vote for PL, we suggested voting for the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova. Now, in 2025, our priority should be to prevent pro-Russian parties from gaining power and to uphold our European direction and the path towards unity with our country. Therefore, I urge you to vote for PL, as it has always been, and will continue to be, the party that champions the interests of the people, our nation, the EU, and our country. The ongoing attacks from the Kremlin and its agents serve as proof of this.
For those who may not wish to vote for PL, I suggest voting for the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). However, I strongly advise against voting for the Coalition for Unity and Welfare, the League of Cities and Communes, the Moldovan National Party, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, the "Democracy at Home" Party, the "Together" Bloc, and other parties that have not agreed to form a coalition or position themselves in favor of a single party that voters could support with a unified commitment to the European course.
Let us unite for the EU and our country. Vote for PL, vote for PAS!" urged Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberals, during his speech on Moldova 1 TV.
Mihai Ghimpu also participated in election debates alongside Arina Spătaru, the president of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, and Svetlana Chesari, a representative of the "New Historical Option" Political Party.
Public radio and television stations, Radio Moldova and Moldova 1, invited all 23 electoral contestants from the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28 to participate in daily electoral debates until September 26.
The format for the electoral debates is based on an average of the results obtained in the last parliamentary elections, the general local elections of 2023, and the results from the last three polls on voting intentions conducted by three different companies prior to the start of the electoral period.
The debates on Radio Moldova will begin at 5:00 p.m., while those on Moldova 1 TV will start at 7:00 p.m.
These debates can be watched live on Radio Moldova and Moldova 1 TV, as well as on the Teleradio-Moldova Company's Facebook and YouTube pages.
