Moldova's CEC rejects exit poll request for 2025 parliamentary vote

Moldova's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has rejected the sole request to conduct an exit poll on election day, which came from the company "Date Inteligente" SRL on September 23.
CEC Vice-President Pavel Postica told Teleradio-Moldova the decision was based on "a lack of clarity and suspicion regarding the survey's funding" and a history of "violations of electoral procedures and data collection methodology" by the company.
When asked if other companies had made similar requests, Mr Postica confirmed that only one had been submitted and subsequently rejected.
The September 21 deadline for submitting exit poll requests has passed. The electoral authority had previously noted that no such surveys were requested for previous elections.
The last exit poll in the country was in 2020, during the second round of the presidential elections, and was carried out by the public association "Spero" and the company "Intellect Group" SRL.
Exit polls are defined as surveys conducted on election day as voters leave polling stations. Data is collected throughout the day, with results released to the public immediately after the polls close. These surveys provide a preliminary picture of the election but cannot be made public before the voting concludes.
