ELECTIONS 2025 // September 26 marks end of campaigning before parliamentary elections

Friday, September 26, marks the final day of campaigning before the parliamentary elections on Sunday. Therefore, today is the last day when campaigning activities are permitted, warns the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
The Central Electoral Authority reminds that, according to the Electoral Code, campaigning is prohibited on election day and the day before the poll.
During this period, candidates are prohibited from appearing on television or radio broadcasts, and local public administrations and owners of advertising spaces must remove electoral materials.
The exception is information already published on the Internet.
The authorities warn that violating this rule constitutes a contravention (Article 52 of the Contravention Code), being subject to a fine of up to 3,000 lei for individuals and up to 7,500 lei for legal entities.
