Over 3,400 national and international observers will monitor Moldova’s parliamentary elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced that Sunday’s parliamentary elections will be monitored by a total of 3,423 observers. Of these, 2,496 national observers represent eight civil society organizations in the country. Most observers were accredited at the request of the Promo-LEX Association and the Union of Jurists of Moldova, reads a press release of the electoral authority.
Also, the CEC accredited 912 international observers. They represent 22 diplomatic missions accredited in Moldova (149 people), 15 foreign electoral authorities (28 people), 12 international associations (269 people), and the OSCE/ODIHR election observation mission with 272 members.
The European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations will be represented by 8 observers; the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization by 3 representatives; the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe by 28 observers; the European Parliament by 14 observers; the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly by 118 observers; the Parliament of Ukraine by 15 observers; and the International Organization of La Francophonie by 8 observers.
