NATO general: Ukraine drones and strikes deep in Russia

“Ukrainian forces are becoming increasingly effective at striking military targets deep inside Russian territory. It is a matter of capabilities, meaning personnel, equipment and training,” stated NATO’s Coordinator for Support to Ukraine, Major General Maik Keller, in an interview with the dpa agency, as reported by DW.
According to Keller, cooperation between the alliance and Kyiv is expanding, particularly over long-range weapons.
“The main task is coordinating support for Ukraine. But we would be naive not to use all the gathered information for our own development. If we fail to spare our soldiers the trials Ukrainians have already endured, then, as military leaders, we are not fulfilling our mission,” emphasized the German officer.
“Drone technology is the best example. In this area, few can teach Ukraine a thing. We are not just talking about their combat effect, but also about how war itself has changed. And we are learning from this,” Keller said.
The NATO general added the Bundeswehr (German armed forces) is currently procuring loitering munitions and aims to rapidly introduce new anti-drone air defence systems.
