Cyberattack attempt on Moldova 1 TV and Radio Moldova websites

On Sunday, September 28, the websites of Moldova's public television and radio stations, moldova1.md and radiomoldova.md, were targeted by a DDoS cyberattack. According to the Cloudflare protection system, the servers received over 36 million fake requests in just a few minutes.

Although the attack was large-scale, the operation of the platforms was not disrupted.

During those minutes, the sites remained accessible and successfully delivered over 70,000 pages to users.

Specialists note that most of the accesses were artificially generated by the attackers; however, the security systems and modern cloud technologies used by Moldova 1 TV and Radio Moldova allowed the activity to occur under normal conditions.

We recall that the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service reported today about several attempted cyberattacks on the electoral infrastructure on September 27 and 28, 2025.

The targets included the CEC.md platform, government cloud service systems, automated process assurance, and some polling stations in the diaspora.

Incidents included distributed denial-of-service attacks, one of which was orchestrated simultaneously from multiple countries, generating over 16 million sessions designed to simulate real traffic and bypass protection systems. There were also attempts to introduce malicious code into databases and malware infections at polling stations.
