Over 5,000 books reach Moldovan schools with Romania’s support

The libraries of 27 general education institutions across the country have received new volumes, all in Romanian. This collection, consisting of over 5,000 copies, was distributed as part of the project "Endowment of Libraries in the Republic of Moldova, 2nd Edition." This initiative is based on the Partnership Agreement between the Romanian Government's Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova and the National Library of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), each school received 178 book titles, including classic literature, books for children and teenagers, fiction, and book titles on personal development.

The institutions that received these donations were selected from those with the greatest need for educational resources, say representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research.
"A library full of books means an extra chance for each student to discover the world, develop their imagination and increase their performance at school", said Marcelina Baleca, head of the General Directorate for General Education Policies within the MEC.
The value of the donation is approximately 30 thousand lei "directly invested in the education of students", points out the MEC.
