Secretary General Artur Mija leaves government position

Artur Mija, the Secretary General of the Government and the Secretary General of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), has announced his resignation from both positions after a decade of political activity. He stated that the decision was made prior to the electoral campaign and is a personal choice. His resignation was approved during a government meeting on October 1, and Prime Minister Dorin Recean publicly thanked him for his activity.
“*In these 10 years, I had the privilege and responsibility to be where many important decisions were made both for PAS and for the Republic of Moldova. I have now decided to take a break from political activity and have submitted my resignation from the positions I held,” Mija wrote on his Facebook page.
He noted that he will remain a PAS member and will continue to honor his responsibility to pay the annual membership fee.
At the beginning of Wednesday’s Government meeting, Prime Minister Dorin Recean sent a message of gratitude for Artur Mija’s work.
“Artur leaves us a good legacy. The Chancellery is not just about documents and processes, but first and foremost about people. I want to give the example of Artur Mija, who demonstrated how good young people can be in politics,” the Chief of Executive declared.
The position of Secretary General of the Government will be taken over by Ana Calinici.
Also at the Government meeting on October 1, Constantin Nedelea was appointed Deputy Director General of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AMDM).
