Over 16,000 employed through ANOFM in the first nine months of the year

During the first nine months of the year, over 16,000 individuals found employment through the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). Nearly half of those who received assistance in finding a job were individuals aged 55 and older. This information was shared by Government Spokesperson Daniel Vodă following the Cabinet of Ministers' meeting on Wednesday, October 1.

“7,283 are women and 2,660 are men. Also, 190 people with disabilities, 107 migrants returned from abroad and 55 people of Roma ethnicity were employed,” Daniel Vodă said.

According to the Government spokesperson, these results confirm the important role of ANOFM in supporting inclusion on the labor market and facilitating access to a job for vulnerable categories.

Daniel Vodă emphasized that any person looking for a job can contact the territorial subdivisions of ANOFM to benefit from professional guidance, counseling and employment support services.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, it is mentioned that the number of people who have found a job, with the support of ANOFM, reaches a historic threshold – the best result in the last 10 years.

Most people were involved in collective, social and personal service activities, followed by employment in agriculture, trade, industry and construction. Of the total number of people employed in the mentioned period, 5,190 were unemployed, and 500 were unemployed-day laborers or employed for a period of up to three months.

The National Bureau of Statistics presented data on September 30, showing a slight decrease in the unemployment rate for the second quarter of the year: 4%, compared to 4.8% in the first quarter. In terms of gender, the unemployment rate for men was higher compared to that for women, and by age group the most affected are men aged 25-34 and young women aged 15-24.
