Moldova weather: Yellow Code warning as cold rain hits

The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has warned that chilly, gloomy weather will persist, with widespread rain and precipitation, from October 4 to 6.

On Saturday, October 4, heavy rain is forecast, with locally strong downpours and isolated thunderstorms. A Yellow Code warning has been issued by meteorologists, effective 00:00 to 17:00 local time.

On Sunday, October 5, the weather is expected to be stable, with no significant precipitation. However, widespread rains are expected to return on Monday, October 6, according to the SHS forecast.

Temperatures will show a gradual drop. Overnight lows will range from 8∘C to 13∘C, dropping later to 5∘C to 10∘C. Daytime highs will fall from 14∘C to 19∘C to 12∘C to 17∘C.

For the Dniester River (Nistru), a rise in water levels of 10–30 centimetres (cm) is forecast over the next 24 hours along the Grigoriopol–Răscăieți sector. Water levels in the Prut River's Șirăuți–Lopatnic area could rise by about 40 cm. No significant change is expected in the hydrological regime for other sectors of the Prut and in smaller rivers.
