EcoVoucher: Over families and elderly will get appliance vouchers
The EcoVoucher program has launched its sixth session this year, specifically targeting families with two children and households that include individuals aged 63 and above. A total of approximately 3,369 families will receive vouchers worth 6,000 lei each for the purchase of energy-efficient refrigerators or washing machines. This session is open from October 3 to October 19, 2025.
The selection of beneficiaries was made based on eligibility criteria and data registered on the compensatii.gov.md platform. The vouchers cover up to 70% of the cost of new household appliances and can be used in partner stores, according to a press release from the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).
“This session includes families with two children and households with elderly people, demonstrating the consistent approach of the program to support various categories of the population. Through the program, we aim to directly support beneficiaries, ensuring their access to energy-efficient equipment and savings on energy bills,” said CNED Director Ion Muntean.
In turn, Kamilla H. Kolshus, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Norwegian Embassy Office in Chisinau, emphasized: "We are happy to see how EcoVoucher directly supports families with children and the elderly in Moldova. The program offers practical solutions to reduce energy costs and increase comfort in households. At the same time, it promotes energy efficiency and environmental protection."
The EcoVoucher program aims to support energy-vulnerable households, reduce consumption and reduce energy expenses. So far, approximately 37,000 families in the Republic of Moldova have benefited from this support, and in 2025 alone, over 20,000 vouchers were redeemed, thanks to Norwegian funding.
