For children suffering from cancer, treatment is free. Public organizations offer young patients and their parents the necessary support to get through difficult times more easily.

"We have around 15 projects through which we offer support to children, that psycho-emotional support, through art therapy activities, individual activities with each child in the ward. Also, from this money we try to help vulnerable families, who have difficulty coping with the entire volume of needs they face during treatment", says Natalia Vîlcu-Bajurean, president of the "Life without Leukemia" Association.

The "Run of Hope" was held for the first time and is expected to become an annual tradition, according to the organizers. In the Republic of Moldova, between 90 and 100 children are diagnosed with various forms of cancer each year. The only department in the country dedicated to treating children with cancer is located at the Oncological Institute in Chișinău.
