Village vote: how party and bloc leaders who passed the threshold fared locally

They successfully crossed the electoral threshold with the parties and electoral blocs they led during the campaign; however, not all of them received significant support from their hometowns. The only exceptions to this are the leaders of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Igor Grosu and Dorin Recean.

The figures from the vote counting minutes for the parliamentary elections of September 28, 2025 show that PAS came in first place in most districts, including the hometowns of the leaders of the other electoral competitors.

PAS leaders – first in Andrușul de Sus and Mândâc

PAS President Igor Grosu was strongly supported by his fellow villagers in the parliamentary elections. Of the 647 valid votes cast in the village of Andrușul de Sus, Cahul district, 434 or over 67.5% were for PAS. The "Democracy at Home" Party came in second place with 74 votes, followed by the "Patriotic" Bloc with 68 votes.

At the district level, PAS also came in first place in Cahul, with 44.35% of the votes.

And most voters in Mândâc, Drochia district, the home village of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, number two on the PAS electoral list, voted for this electoral competitor: 387 out of 965 votes cast. In second place was the "Patriotic" Bloc with 243 votes, and in third place - the Our Party with 135 votes.

In the home village of President Maia Sandu – Risipeni in Fălești – over 63.4% of the 369 voters checked PAS on their ballots.

Igor Dodon and Vasile Tarlev, in second place in Sadova and Bașcalia

PAS was also the favorite in the localities of two of the leaders of the "Patriotic" Bloc – Igor Dodon and Vasile Tarlev.

Thus, according to data from the vote counting minutes, over 51.3% of the residents of Sadova, Călărași district, who went to the polls opted for PAS – 453 out of the 882 votes.

Only in second place, with 293 votes, was the "Patriotic" Bloc, led by their fellow villager, Igor Dodon.

In the village of Bașcalia, Basarabeasca district, where Vasile Tarlev was born, PAS scored 430 votes out of the 832 validly cast, and the "Patriotic" Bloc - 242.

In third place was the "Alternative" Bloc, which received votes from 61 residents of Bașcalia.

"Alternative", in second place in Gagauzia and third in Chisinau

The capital, where the number 1 on the electoral list of the "Alternative" Bloc, Ion Ceban, was born, still placed PAS in first place – 52.68% of the votes. "Alternative" was only in third place, after the "Patriotic" Bloc, with 14.48% or 53,612 votes.

And Ion Chicu's Pârjolteni, Călărași district, did not massively support their fellow countryman: 328 of the 553 votes were for PAS, and only 78 were for "Alternative".

In the Gagauzia Autonomous Region, the region where Alexandr Stoianoglo comes from, this electoral competitor came in second place, with 11.47% or 6,555 votes, far behind the "Patriotic" Bloc, which was voted for by 82.35% of the Gagauzians.

Usatîi's Fălești and Costiuc's Sadaclia

Neither did the leaders of the other two parties that crossed the electoral threshold – Renato Usatîi from the Our Party and Vasile Costiuc from the "Democracy at Home" Party – enjoy massive support in their hometowns.

The city of Fălești cast 1,928 votes for PAS, another 1,843 for the "Patriotic" Bloc, and 1,780 for "Our Party".

In Sadaclia, Basarabeasca district, where Vasile Costiuc was born, more than half of the votes were also given to PAS: 302 out of 558. The "Democracy at Home" Party was voted for by 116 Sadaclia residents, and the "Patriotic" Bloc – by 61.

According to the data from the Central Electoral Commission, submitted to the Constitutional Court for validation, three parties and two electoral blocs have surpassed the electoral threshold and will be represented in the future Parliament.
