Serghei Diaconu was appointed as the Director General of the National Crisis Management Center for a five-year term, beginning on October 21, 2025. His appointment was unanimously approved by the Government during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on October 8.

Effective October 20, 2025, Serghei Diaconu will conclude his role as Director General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as mandated by a government order, to assume a new position in the Prime Minister's Office.

Additionally, starting on October 21, his reports as Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be suspended while he serves as the Director General of the National Crisis Management Center.
