Fire at Florești nursing home: 7 emergency vehicles, 20 rescuers on site

A nursing home in the village of Căprești, Florești district, was engulfed in flames on the morning of October 8. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU), the 112 Service received a call at 11:24 after witnesses observed thick smoke coming from under the roof of a separate building on the nursing home's premises.
Seven emergency vehicles and 20 rescuers and firefighters were mobilized to the scene of the fire. IGSU officials confirmed that the fire had spread to the roof of the celebration hall within the asylum.
Thanks to the quick actions of the firefighters, one person was successfully evacuated from the building. Fortunately, none of the asylum beneficiaries were present in the affected building at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The flames destroyed approximately 120 square meters of the roof, but the fire was contained by 12:46 PM.
IGSU teams are still on-site to completely extinguish the fire. The cause and circumstances of the fire are under investigation by specialists.
