Eugen Doga Airport nears 5.5 million passengers this year

Air traffic at the "Eugen Doga" International Airport - Chisinau continues to rise. During September, a total of 645,959 passengers were boarded and disembarked, representing 105% of the initial forecast, according to the airport administration.
Compared to September 2024, the airport's passenger traffic increased by 45.5%, representing over 200,000 additional passengers.
At the same time, air operations totalled 4,694 landings and take-offs, and cargo traffic reached 253.2 tons.
The largest increases in passenger numbers were recorded on established routes to Istanbul (13,795), Bucharest (12,673), Antalya (11,026), Barcelona (8,899) and Heraklion (8,398), signalling the constant interest of travellers in tourist and business destinations with traditional connections in the region.
Of the 15 new destinations launched in September, the top five, by number of passengers carried, were Dortmund (5,930), Alicante (5,634), Nuremberg (5,575), Brussels (5,480) and Katowice (4,941).

The management of the "Eugen Doga" International Airport - Chisinau anticipates that this evolution will continue in the last months of the year.
According to the data of the administration of the "Eugen Doga" International Airport, in the first nine months of 2025, over 5 million 467 thousand passengers were registered to board and disembark in Chisinau.
