An increasing number of Moldovans are seeing psychologists, mainly for depression and anxiety
Inga is one of the beneficiaries of the Mental Health Center in Soroca. She confesses that she found support from psychologists and psychiatrists, and the experience gives her security and support.
"From the beginning, I felt very important, because here I found both a psychologist and a psychiatrist. In many cases and problems that I encountered in life, they helped me and I come to the center as if to a family. Here I tell my problems and I am always helped and supported", said the beneficiary.
People who come to this center ask for specialized support for anxiety, depression or emotional disorders.
"I was closed in on myself and that's why I came here. I desired to come to the psychologist, to the center, for a long time. - And how do you feel now? - I feel very good", mentioned Eugenia, another beneficiary.
More and more young people are turning to the community center.
"Most often with depression and anxiety disorders. Unfortunately, from year to year this disorder keeps "rejuvenating" among young people. They are offered medical assistance, psychiatric treatment, they are offered psychological assistance, either through psychological counseling, psychotherapy", said psychologist Lilia Grîu.
"People who have a mental disorder do not only have this, they also have social problems. Most often, during the cold season there are financial problems, problems with wood, heating, personal identity documents. I try to offer them support, I go with them to the multifunctional center, to help them understand what documents they need and how they can solve the problem", mentioned Mariana Lupașcu, social worker.
