“The Secretariat welcomes the Government's efforts to diversify its energy supply and reform the governance of the energy market in recent months. Further reforms in accordance with the rules of the Energy Community and integration into the European system and markets must remain a priority in the future as well," reads the quoted source. Measures to boost the reform of the electricity market and the integration of the country with Ukraine and Romania should follow the action plan for the reform of the electricity market, which was approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova at the second Energy Dialogue at high level EU - Moldova on June 30, 2022. We remind you that "Energocom" concluded an electricity supply contract with the Cuciurgan plant in December at the price of 73 US dollars/MWh. The Commission for Emergency Situations will today order the revision of the December electricity tariff. The Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) will have to make the decision immediately. The announcement was made on Monday, December 5, by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spînu, during a conference on the energy situation in the country. According to him, electricity could be cheaper by 25% and will cost around 4 lei, compared to almost 6 lei as it currently costs, after the last decision of ANRE.
