A team from the World Bank has concluded its support mission for the project titled "Public Procurement Efficiency and Value for Money in the Republic of Moldova." This mission took place on Friday, October 17, and is financed through the Multi-Donor Trust Fund called "Moldova - Growth, Resilience, and Opportunities for Well-Being" (M-GROW).

"Modernizing the public procurement system is an essential step for more efficient use of public funds and for creating a process based on transparency, integrity and results. I am grateful to the World Bank for the support provided, which helps us strengthen institutional capacities and develop a modern, digital and performance-oriented system", said Ana Luca, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, at the opening of the mission, according to a press release.

In turn, the World Bank representatives reconfirmed the institution's commitment to support the Republic of Moldova in strengthening an efficient, transparent and results-oriented public procurement system, which ensures better value for money and concrete benefits for citizens.

The visit aims to assess the stage of project implementation and identify support measures for the modernization of the electronic public procurement system. During the mission, World Bank experts discuss with representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Public Procurement Agency, the Center for Information Technologies in Finance and other central institutions and local authorities, regarding planning activities, improving processes and strengthening institutional capacities.

Also, within the mission, the World Bank team organizes, during October 16-17, the workshop "Monitoring Public Procurement: Practices, Experiences and Innovative Approaches", which brings together representatives of public authorities and development partners to discuss good practices and modern solutions for monitoring the public procurement system.
