Chișinău–Airport railway line could be ready by spring
The route from Chisinau International Airport "Eugen Doga" to the center of Chisinau could soon become much faster and more comfortable. The authorities are working on a project that will connect the airport to the Railway Station via a train line for passengers. The announcement was made by the acting Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Bolea, on the PE FAȚĂ show on Moldova 1 TV.
"We are currently working on connecting the airport with the train service at our Railway Station. On Friday, October 17, 2025, the train began operations from the Central Railway Station to Revaca Station. Traveling at a speed of 20 km per hour, the journey took 12 minutes from central Chisinau to Revaca Station, followed by an additional 10 minutes to the city of Sângera," announced Bolea.
Revaca and Sângera stations are expected to be ready by spring.
"These will be the next two stations, and by spring of this year, we will ensure both stations meet passenger requirements. We will also conduct an audit of the several kilometers of railway to achieve an average speed of 50 kilometers per hour on this section. This way, we can efficiently transport the large number of passengers from the airport to the center of Chisinau by train," the acting minister emphasized.
This summer, the government revised the Railway Transport Code to enhance railway management and minimize unnecessary expenses. The funds saved will be reinvested in repairs, maintenance, and modernization of the railways, leading to safer trains and improved services for passengers.
