Illegal taxi service in Călărași: drivers fined and cars left without license plates

Several drivers in Calarasi were fined for illegally operating as taxis after raids conducted by the National Motor Transport Agency (ANTA) in collaboration with patrol officers from the National Inspectorate of Public Security (INSP). In addition to the fines, authorities also ordered the removal of the license plates from the vehicles used for unauthorized passenger transport.

According to ANTA, the operation was organized in response to numerous requests from a registered taxi operator, who reported instances of unfair competition and the illegal provision of taxi services.

After conducting inspections, the inspectors prepared seven violation reports.

ANTA representatives urge passengers to exercise caution when using taxi services and to rely solely on authorized providers, as these are the only ones that guarantee the protection of consumer rights.

Any reports of illegal activity made to the Agency trigger immediate inspections and the implementation of legal measures.

The authorities announced that control actions will continue to promote a fair competitive environment and ensure compliance with regulations in the field of passenger transport.
