Maia Sandu signs decree appointing Alexandru Munteanu as prime minister–designate

President Maia Sandu has officially appointed economist Alexandru Munteanu as her candidate for prime minister. The decree was signed on Friday, October 24, following discussions between the president and the parliamentary faction of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS).
"Following consultations with the parliamentary factions, I signed today the decree by which I designated Mr. Alexandru Munteanu as a candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova", announced the head of state.
Maia Sandu wished the candidate success in forming the government team and in obtaining the Parliament's support, underlining the priorities of the future Executive: protecting peace, preparing the country for accession to the European Union, consolidating the economy, and increasing living standards for citizens.
