United States- Moldova Strategic Dialogue, on the agenda of the discussions between Maia Sandu and Dereck Hogan

The bilateral strategic dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the USA, as well as the political and security situation in the country and in the region, were the main topics discussed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, with the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Dereck J. Hogan.

The President of the Republic of Moldova reiterated the importance of the US Treasury Department's action to sanction nine individuals and 12 entities associated with grand corruption and Kremlin influence in our domestic affairs.

We remind you that, on Wednesday, the high-level meeting of the Republic of Moldova - USA Strategic Dialogue takes place in Chisinau. Before the opening of the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, declared that relations between the two states have never been stronger than at present. For his part, Dereck Hogan appreciated the determination of the Republic of Moldova to advance in the process of joining the European Union.

Families with children with severe disabilities will get financial assistance

Children with severe disabilities in our country will benefit from a new support package developed with the help of the development partners of the Republic of Moldova. According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, over 5,500 families will benefit from this program, each of whom will receive a one-off allowance of 3,000 lei. The measure comes as essential support for these families, underlining the authorities' commitment to improving the living conditions of people with disabilities. However, for some families this amount is not enough to cover the costs of caring for children with disabilities.
