Moldova’s prime minister-designate unveils new cabinet line-up

Moldova’s designated prime minister, Alexandru Munteanu, announced on Sunday, October 26, the first members of his new cabinet. The announcement appeared on his official Facebook page.
Emil Ceban, rector of the Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, has been nominated to lead the Ministry of Health.
Vladislav Cojuhari, the current Secretary General at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is proposed to take over the Justice Ministry.
Cristian Jardan, a journalist and media manager who served as political adviser to former Prime Minister Dorin Recean, is nominated to head the Ministry of Culture.
“We continue discussions to ensure we build a team capable of implementing a government plan that brings prosperity to citizens and fosters economic growth, as Moldova moves closer to European Union integration,” Munteanu wrote.
The composition of the future government is expected to be finalized later this week. “There will be changes,” Munteanu added.
President Maia Sandu appointed economist Alexandru Munteanu as prime minister-designate on Friday, October 24, following consultations with the Party of Action and Solidarity parliamentary faction.
