Prime Minister-designate, consultations with representatives of trade union confederations: "Let's improve the living standards of citizens"

Prime Minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu held discussions on Monday, October 27, focusing on reducing undeclared work and attracting more young people to the workforce. He met with representatives from trade union confederations in the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, the Prime Minister-designate also engaged with civil society members and specialists from various agricultural associations on the same day.
"We had a productive discussion with representatives from trade union confederations regarding employee rights and protections. We focused on strategies to reduce undeclared work and attract more young people to the workforce. Our goals include improving workplace safety and health, increasing both minimum and average wages alongside labor productivity, and investing in vocational training to ensure that the workforce meets the demands of the modern economy. We will continue to collaborate with trade unions to develop public policies that support employees and contribute to enhancing the standard of living for citizens in a fair and sustainable manner," Alexandru Munteanu wrote on his Facebook page.
Agriculture is a crucial sector of our economy, but to address current challenges, we need a modern, sustainable, and climate-adapted agricultural model. This was emphasized by the prime minister-designate after public consultations with representatives from various associations in the field.
"We discussed access to European funds for investments in modern technologies, as well as the solutions needed to improve irrigation systems, which pose a major challenge in many regions of the country. I emphasized that the Government will continue to support farmers and accelerate the development of the agricultural sector through investments in high-value-added agriculture," Munteanu stated.
The designated prime minister, Alexandru Munteanu, emphasized the importance of including diverse ideas in the future government program through consultations with civil society.
"I had discussions with representatives from civil society on how we can create a more transparent, inclusive, and dialogue-based governance process.
We addressed several critical topics, including justice reform and the vetting process, economic development and energy security, opportunities for youth, and the rights of individuals with disabilities. Additionally, we discussed tourism development and environmental policies. I appreciate the participants' valuable recommendations. We will continue this dialogue to ensure that the future government program incorporates as many ideas from civil society as possible," Alexandru Munteanu stated on his Facebook page.
Prime Minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu is currently organizing public discussions to finalize the government program he plans to present to Parliament.
Following his meetings with entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova, Munteanu also held discussions today with representatives from the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM). He emphasized that the dialogue with local authorities will continue through the Joint Commission and sectoral working groups, ensuring that mayors and local teams are better equipped to access and manage European funds.
