MAEIE condemns the Russian Federation's missile attacks on Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) condemns "in the strongest terms" the brutal missile attacks of the Russian Federation on the neighboring country. The diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine are carefully monitoring the evolution of the security situation, reads a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"These unjustified actions are causing dramatic consequences in Ukraine, leaving people without electricity, heat, and in some cases without water," notes the Ministry of Interior. At the same time, the institution reminds that Moldovan citizens in Ukraine can turn to the embassy in Kyiv or the consulate in Odesa for specialized consular assistance in case of any exceptional situation. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that today's attacks are yet another proof of unacceptable aggression against vital Ukrainian civilian targets, which also affects our country," states the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We remind you that, today, at around 3:15 p.m., amid the massive bombings in Ukraine, a Border Police patrol identified the place where elements of a rocket fell, in an orchard near the town Briceni. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) informs that, at the moment, there is no risk for citizens, as the perimeter where the incident occurred is secured by Border Police patrols. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations conducts damage assessment measures and talks with the LPAs and residents about the incident. The Bombteh team is involved in the intervention process and receives IGSU support in carrying out the specific activities undertaken, for the next 24 hours. Specialists in technical-explosive expertise will determine if the discovered object is a component part of a rocket, has explosive elements in its composition or are only parts of a rocket. In accordance with the contingency plan of the MAI, the Border Police intensified its patrolling and raised the level of alert in the area of the Briceni and Ocnița sectors.

We remind you that on October 31, a projectile shot down by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft system fell in the town of Naslavcea, in Ocnița district. As a result, the windows of several homes were broken and several roofs were destroyed.
