ANOFM reports 12,500 job vacancies in October, mainly in light industry

Over 12.5 thousand jobs are vacant across the country at the end of October, according to the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) database. The most positions are available in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti – 7,753 and 1,029, respectively.
For people with higher or post-secondary education, 3,077 jobs are available, representing 24% of the total vacancies.
Most of these – 1,123 – are for technicians, foremen and other specialists in technical fields.
There are 360 vacancies in healthcare. In the country's localities, 87 specialist doctors, 51 family doctors and over 100 medical and community nurses are needed.
Almost 300 jobs are available in the field of information technologies, where employers are looking for programmers, information systems specialists, developers and IT analysts.
For people with secondary vocational-technical education and for unskilled workers, the ANOFM proposes 9,509 jobs, which represents 76% of the total number of vacancies.
In light industry, 1,183 seamstresses, weavers and tailors are sought. Approximately the same number of vacancies are available in transport and storage. The ANOFM database lists 443 car drivers, including truck drivers, 266 trolleybus drivers and 87 taxi drivers.
Approximately 1,000 jobs are available in trade and construction. Employers are also looking for 36 tractor drivers, six carpenters and five milkers.
