The National Police has acquired advanced cybersecurity equipment to safeguard its internal and operational communication systems. This donation, valued at 1.355 million euros, is part of the project "Strengthening the capacities of cooperation with the subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs." This project is being implemented by the German Federal Police and is funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.

High-performance hardware, advanced software solutions, licenses, technical support, and specialized training are part of a donation to the National Police, aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of new systems.

The official ceremony for the equipment donation took place at the General Inspectorate of Police. It was attended by Viorel Cernăuțeanu, the Chief of the General Inspectorate, as well as His Excellency Hubert Knirsch, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova, and Andrea Geschke, a liaison officer with the German Federal Police.

During the event, a donation agreement was signed, reaffirming the commitment of both parties to continued bilateral collaboration.

The collaboration with the German Federal Police exemplifies a long-term institutional partnership founded on trust, professionalism, and shared goals. Viorel Cernăuțeanu emphasized that this initiative represents a significant step toward creating a safer and more modern police force that aligns with European standards.

The Ambassador highlighted Germany's role as a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova, firmly supporting the transformation of key institutions, including the National Police. Hubert Knirsch noted, "It is impressive to see how this assistance is resulting in tangible outcomes that positively affect the safety and quality of life for citizens."

According to specialists from the Inspectorate General of Police (IGP), the project includes a substantial component for technical and operational assistance, which will strategically impact the police force. It aims to modernize crime analysis and prevention efforts, enhance digital expertise, support K9 activities, and strengthen community policing—all of which serve to improve safety for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
