Mihail Latișev wins silver at the European Under-23 Judo Championships
Mihail Latîșev, a Moldovan judoka, has become the European youth vice-champion. At the competition held at the Chișinău Arena, he won the silver medal in the 90-kilogram weight category.
Latishev won 4 matches en route to the final. The Moldovan defeated Serbian Miljan Radulj, Croatian Lovre Mrkovic, Azerbaijani Vugar Talibov (ippon) and German Lasse Schriever (ippon). However, in the final, Latishev lost to Georgian Giorgi Jabniashvili. The confrontation was balanced, and our compatriot lost on the so-called "golden point".
The Moldovan judoka missed the chance to repeat his performance from the last edition of the European Youth Championships "under 23". In 2024, he became the champion in Pila, Poland.
