Civil protection drill organized for local mayors in Taraclia

Mayors from the southern region of the country have expressed confidence in their ability to handle emergencies. They participated in a practical civil protection exercise organized by the Taraclia District Emergency Situations Section. Additionally, a review of the gas masks held by local authorities was conducted. These training sessions occur once every five years.

"This is a GP-5 gas mask, designed to protect the respiratory tract, eyes, and skin. Let’s put on the mask and give it a try."
Residents of Taraclia also had the opportunity to participate in civil protection exercises. Stepan mentioned that such training is important because effective security can prevent significant dangers.
"There is nothing unusual about it; it is easy to breathe, and the mask is lightweight. I believe that in certain situations, it can save your life, and that is the most important thing."

Boris Torlac is an employee of the City Hall of the village of Cealâc. He says that public employees are obliged to know the necessary measures in the event of an emergency to guide citizens.
“We participated in the training on chemical protection. We are familiar with it. It is important that such activities are organized more often”, says Boris Torlac.
“We have 396 protective suits for children, five dosimeters, 396 gas masks, one medical equipment, 122 individual chemical protection packages, 50 filtering gas masks for kindergartens and 136 for schools”, says the mayor of the village of Balabanu, Nicolae Munteanu.
The civil protection exercises were organized by the Emergency Situations Section of the Taraclia district and were addressed to mayors and specialists from the localities.
"Theoretically, city halls are practicing the training system here and must apply the same method of distributing personal protective equipment at the local level", explains the vice president of Taraclia district, Andrei Baltacov.

Local authorities in Taraclia district have 20,000 gas masks, as well as suits and other equipment necessary for interventions in emergencies.
