Israel's ambassador praises Moldovan workforce amid deepening economic cooperation
Israeli diplomat Yoram Elron addressed the safety of the estimated 13,000 Moldovan citizens living in the country and discussed Israel's security stance on Iran and continuous negotiations with Palestine.

Moldovan workers in Israel are 'highly regarded' for their professionalism and commitment, according to Yoram Elron, Israel’s Ambassador to Chișinău.
The diplomat, speaking on the Moldova 1 show "Dimensiunea Diplomatică," stated that this recognition comes amid deepening economic cooperation between the two nations, which spans trade, partnerships, and joint investments.
Moldovan citizens have been legally working in Israel since 2012, based on a bilateral agreement that remains valid until 2029. Official data indicates that approximately 13,000 Moldovans currently reside in the country. Ambassador Elron highlighted that workers in sectors like construction and domestic care are particularly well-regarded. The agreement provides a clear legal framework for employment, and Israeli authorities take necessary measures to ensure that employee rights are respected.

Ambassador Elron also assured that Moldovan citizens in Israel are safe, just like Israeli citizens, emphasising the country's dedication to maintaining regional peace.
Addressing the complexities of regional security, Elron stated that concerning Iran, they must understand that "Israel is not going anywhere" and is a country committed to defending itself. He added that Israel consistently maintains negotiations with Palestine, citing the complete evacuation of all Israeli presence from Gaza in 2005. The Ambassador’s comments on peace and negotiations come against the backdrop of past cease-fire agreements previously reached between Israel and Hamas.
