Munteanu vows economic reform and EU accession for new cabinet
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu concluded a working tour of the ministries following the recent New Ministerial Appointments. Eight members of the new Moldova Cabinet were introduced to their respective teams.

According to the Prime Minister, the central mission for him and his team is to pivot the Republica Moldova's economic paradigm—shifting from a consumption-based model to an Investment-Driven Economy oriented toward development. The overarching national goal, he stressed, remains EU Accession.
"Our focus is on economic growth, on attracting investments. I can't say it will be easy, because we will have to change the image, reposition ourselves, talk to investors," stated Alexandru Munteanu.
Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Osmochescu, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, emphasized the necessity of leveraging the current environment: "We must capitalize on every possibility to enforce our agenda, to protect the interests of our producers, of the Republic of Moldova, because this is a transition period."
Elsewhere, Natalia Plugaru was introduced to the team at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, taking over from Alexei Buzu.
"It is a great responsibility, but I am sure everything will be fine," said Buzu.
Plugaru added, "I believe our role in this Cabinet configuration will be to emphasize Economic Reform and development."
Meanwhile, the freshly appointed Minister of Health, Emil Ceban, acknowledged that his new status is a significant professional challenge.
"I left my comfort zone, as director, and took on this challenge, in a healthcare system that is in continuous development. A lot of things need to be continued," Ceban declared.
During his visit to the Ministry of Justice, Prime Minister Munteanu voiced a strong desire for a fundamentally transformed Justice System.
"If I had the possibility to change only one thing in the Republic of Moldova, it would be your field, the legal system as a whole," the Prime Minister affirmed.
"I promise I will make every effort and put all the energy I have to center and protect all the fundamental values of a rule of law," responded the Minister of Justice, Vladislav Cojuhari.
Minister after minister gave assurances that they would work diligently to meet society's expectations.
"For my part, I come to ensure maximum vision and the best possible decisions," said Minister of Finance Andrian Gavriliță.
"I want to assure you that we know what we have to do. We have an extremely complicated field, but together with such a team, we will succeed," mentioned Minister of Environment Gheorghe Hajder.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, highlighted the difficulty of his portfolio: "A field as important as it is complicated. Especially in today's conditions, when we have a common goal, European Integration."
"We must have big objectives, responsibility, and the desire to fulfill them, and I believe that only together will we succeed," concluded Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan.
The Munteanu Government secured a Vote of Confidence from Parliament late last week. Eight ministries welcomed new heads, while the other half of the Cabinet of Ministers maintained the positions they held in the previous Recean Government.
