Government holds first meeting to discuss ending Cultural Agreement with Russia

The government, led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, will meet for the first time on Wednesday, November 5, at 10:00 a.m. The agenda includes a denunciation of the Cultural Agreement with the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău announced its intention to terminate the Cultural Agreement with the Russian Federation in February of this year. This decision was communicated to the Russian Ambassador to Chișinău, Oleg Ozerov, who was summoned to the Ministry in response to another violation of Moldova's airspace by Russian drones.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi recently stated on the program “ÎN CONTEXT” on Moldova 1 TV that the Government's decision will be followed by a vote in Parliament, the signing of a decree by the Head of State, and an official notification to the Russian side.
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi pointed out that closing the Russian Center for Science and Culture is "a political gesture aimed at countering threats to national security."
It's important to note that the members of the new Government, led by Alexandru Munteanu, took their oaths of office on November 1.
