Two serious accidents claim three lives in Straseni and Ocnița

Three people lost their lives and four others, including two minors, were hospitalized following two accidents that occurred on Wednesday evening, November 5, in the districts of Straseni and Ocnița.
In an accident between the villages of Codreanca and Greblești in the Strașeni district, the parents of an eight-year-old child died, while the child was taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to the police, a 38-year-old woman driving a Toyota Carina, with her 35-year-old partner and their eight-year-old son as passengers, allegedly made an illegal overtaking manoeuvre. As a result, their car collided head-on with a Seat Ibiza driven by a 27-year-old woman with a 2-year-old girl as a passenger. The vehicles were travelling on the Călărași - Strașeni route.
“The impact was violent, and the Toyota overturned on the road. The accident resulted in the deaths of the driver and her partner. The minors in both cars, as well as the driver of the Seat, were transported to the hospital with various injuries,” state law enforcement officials.
The second accident occurred on the Otaci-Dondușeni route. Preliminary information indicates that a Toyota Avensis lost control, skidded off the road, and crashed into a tree.
Svetlana Talpă from the Ocnița Police Inspectorate reported that the 36-year-old driver sustained serious injuries, while the 56-year-old passenger unfortunately died at the scene.
The police continue their investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the accidents.
