The USA and Romania will continue to support Moldova in reforming, modernizing, strengthening national security, and joining the European Union.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu received assurances regarding support for the Republic of Moldova during meetings on November 6 with Nick Pietrowicz, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States, and Cristian-Leon Țurcanu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova.

The new Prime Minister welcomed the U.S.'s assistance to strengthen Moldova's resilience and support its democratic processes. This includes the implementation of projects like the Strașeni-Gutinaș overhead power line, which is financed with $130 million.

Nick Pietrowicz reaffirmed the U.S. government's commitment to continue supporting Moldova in areas such as energy, security, the rule of law, and economic development.

During discussions between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Cristian-Leon Țurcanu, the Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, the two emphasized the "excellent bilateral relations" and the strong friendship between the Republic of Moldova and Romania.

"Romania is a strategic partner and a firm supporter of our country on its path to European integration. We will continue our special cooperation, which will benefit the citizens of both states," stated Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, as reported by a government press release.

Ambassador Cristian-Leon Țurcanu congratulated Prime Minister Munteanu on his new role and reiterated Romania’s commitment to providing full support to the Republic of Moldova in its development and European integration efforts.
