Eight new PAS deputies validated by the Constitutional Court

On Thursday, November 6, the Constitutional Court confirmed the mandates of eight deputies elected from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) list in the most recent parliamentary elections. These new parliamentarians will take the place of former party colleagues who have left to join the Munteanu Government, accepted other public roles, or retired from politics.
Among those returning to the Legislative is Igor Talmazan, a jurist and the current Secretary General of the Parliament, who is serving his second term as a deputy. Throughout his career, he has held roles as the head of the Prime Minister's Control Body, director of the Customs Service, and Secretary General of the Government.
Angela Munteanu-Pojoga, a philologist and former secretary of the Human Rights Commission, is also back for a new term in the Legislature.
Veronica Briceag, an economist who previously worked in the Environment, Climate, and Green Transition Committee, and Liliana Grosu, a psychologist with over 25 years of experience in education, are both serving their second term as deputies.
Also returning to Parliament are Alexandr Trubca, a public administration specialist and former chairman of the Agriculture and Food Industry Committee, along with Gheorghe Ichim, a jurist.
From local administration, Veronica Cupcea, the mayor of the Sărătenii Vechi commune in Telenești and a horticultural engineering graduate, and Valeriu Carțîn, a history professor and mayor of the village of Mășcăuți in Criuleni, are joining Parliament.
It is noteworthy that several deputies have submitted their mandates, including Dan Perciun, the Minister of Education; Emil Ceban, the Minister of Health; Ludmila Catlabuga, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry; Mihai Popșoi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Vladimir Bolea, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development; former Prime Minister Dorin Recean; and former Secretary General of the Government, Artur Mija, who have announced their withdrawal from political life. Additionally, Nicu Popescu has been appointed as the special envoy for European affairs and strategic partnerships by the President of the Republic of Moldova.
We remind you that the new Parliament of the Republic of Moldova was elected on September 28, 2025 and has six parliamentary factions. The Action and Solidarity Party holds a majority of 55 seats.
