Roberta Metsola to address Moldovan Parliament in Chișinău

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola is set to deliver a key address this Friday morning, November 7, to the Moldovan Legislature in Chișinău. The speech will mark the formal constitution of the 12th Parliament.
Immediately after the parliamentary address, Roberta Metsola will head to the Presidency for a crucial meeting with President Maia Sandu. Following their high-level talks, both leaders are expected to hold a joint press conference and make public statements.
The European Parliament President's official agenda is packed, also including separate meetings with Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
Metsola will also engage with the next generation, participating in a public event focused on dialogue with youth regarding the future of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. This event is scheduled to take place at the "Spiru Haret" Theoretical High School in the capital.
Significantly, the visit by the head of the Brussels Legislature is strategically timed, occurring mere days after the European Commission approved its latest EU Enlargement Report. Crucially, the document highlights that the Republic of Moldova made the biggest leap in the past year in its preparation level for Moldova EU Accession to the bloc.
Metsola has previously shown her commitment to the country's European path. She last addressed the plenary of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in November 2022, delivering a message of strong support.
