Marta Kos to visit Chișinău after EU praises Moldova progress

European Commissioner Marta Kos is scheduled to make an official visit to Chișinău on November 11. The announcement of this key event was made by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov.

During her visit, Commissioner Kos will meet with the country's leadership and take part in several public engagements. A core part of her agenda is the Conference "Enlargement Report 2025: Progress and Future Priorities of the Republic of Moldova."

This high-profile conference is expected to gather representatives from the Government, international partners, academia, the private sector, and civil society, with a sharp focus on Moldova’s EU accession progress.

Importantly, the Commissioner's trip comes shortly after her last official visit to the Republic of Moldova, which occurred between September 3 and 5.

Furthermore, the visit carries particular significance given the recent commendation received by Chișinău. On November 4, the European Union (EU) Enlargement Package for 2025, presented by Commissioner Kos, explicitly stated that the Republica Moldova had achieved the greatest progress in a single year on its path toward the EU.

The European Commission highlighted that the country has advanced "with an accelerated speed" in its accession process and has significantly deepened cooperation with the community bloc. This noteworthy progress, the Commission emphasized, was achieved despite "continuous hybrid threats and attempts to destabilize the country."
