Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Moldova Championship: The road to Bulgaria

A mesmerizing display of grace, power, and perfect synchrony marked the Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) Moldova Championship, where the country's most talented athletes competed.

The stakes were high: securing qualification for the World Championship in Bulgaria, where the winning Moldovan gymnasts team will represent the nation against the globe's strongest contenders.

Synchronized routines are built on endless hours of intense work and unwavering discipline. Participants unanimously agree that the road to success is demanding.

One athlete shared her personal journey: "I've been practicing gymnastics since I was little, inspired by TV. I loved it so much I pursued it professionally. I train weekly, both at home and at the gym."

Another stated, "My sister practiced, and she was my motivation; I admired her graceful movements. This was my childhood dream."

A third simply affirmed, "I am very flexible, and I truly love this sport."

A coach emphasized the broader impact: "It's a crucial stage for them, perhaps less for their career and more for their personal growth. For us, these girls are already champions. It’s a beautiful sport that shapes them into confident young women."

Among the competitors was Gabriela Rusu, who started practicing group gymnastics at the age of four.

"I chose this sport because it is elegant, and the girls work as a team," Rusu explained. "I participated in European championships and took first place. I currently have four or five costumes."

The national tournament successfully gathered top Moldovan gymnasts from all regions.

"Our gymnasts have consistently achieved very good results, especially on the international arena," noted Oxana Mihalciuc-Munteanu, president of the Gymnastics Federation. "This year, the junior team won the silver Balkan Games medal, and following the Republic of Moldova Championship, we will compete in the World Championship."

This year marks the 10th edition of the Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Moldova Championship.
