Fire at Vatra workers’ dormitory: 15 evacuated, no casualties

A major fire broke out on Sunday morning at a temporary dormitory belonging to an asphalt production company in Vatra, located in the Chisinau municipality. The flames engulfed several container-style homes where the company's employees were temporarily living. Fortunately, all 15 people inside were able to evacuate in time, with no casualties reported.

The emergency call to the 112 Service was received at 07:36, prompting the dispatch of several rescue and fire brigade teams to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered that a fire was raging violently over an area of approximately 240 square meters.
A command center was established to coordinate the response, and eight specialized vehicles were deployed along with a team of 30 firefighters to combat the flames. Their swift action prevented the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings, according to a statement from the General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU).
The flames were contained after half an hour, and firefighters worked for nearly an hour and a half to fully extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The causes and circumstances of the fire are currently under investigation by specialists.
