Yellow fog warning in effect across Moldova

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova are advised that starting on the evening of Sunday, November 9, fog will blanket the entire country, reducing visibility to 200 meters.
The yellow fog warning issued by meteorologists in Moldova remains in effect until Monday, November 10, at 11:00 AM.

Currently, traffic in Chisinau is challenging.
Traffic safety during dense fog: Essential tips
Traffic safety in dense fog relies on proactive behavior and strict adherence to specific rules.
Tips for drivers:
Reduce your speed: Significantly lower your speed to match visibility conditions, and be prepared to stop at any moment.
Maintain a greater distance from the vehicle in front of you. Fog can obscure distances and increase your braking time.
Use lights properly: Turn on your dipped beam (low beam) along with your fog lights (both front and rear if your vehicle has them). Do not use high-beam headlights, as their glare reflects off water droplets in the fog, further reducing visibility.
Avoid risky manoeuvres: Signal your intentions well in advance when changing direction or lane.
Keep the windshield clean: Regularly clean your windshield and use the vehicle's ventilation or demisting system to prevent condensation.
Use hazard lights: If visibility drops to less than 50 meters, turn on your hazard lights to increase your visibility to others.
Tips for pedestrians:
Wear visible clothing: Choose light-colored clothing or, ideally, wear reflective items (such as bands or vests) to ensure drivers can see you.
Cross safely: Only cross at designated areas (pedestrian crossings, traffic lights) and make sure drivers see you before you step onto the road.
Avoid standing near roads: Do not stand on the roadway or the edges of heavily trafficked roads.
By following these tips, both drivers and pedestrians can significantly enhance safety during foggy conditions.
