German aid for Comrat: A new central square will be built in the city

Thanks to support from Germany, the citizens of Comrat will soon have a new, modern square in front of the city hall. This square is designed for relaxation, socializing, and leisure activities. The design, developed in collaboration with local residents, will transform the area into an attractive and welcoming green space for all generations. Construction began in September and is expected to be completed by the end of November.

The square will be equipped with resting areas, pathways, benches, gazebos, and the street lighting will be modernized.

“I saw the project that will be implemented here, and I think it will be very beautiful. I believe everyone will be delighted—both the city residents and the young people. It will be a pleasure to see how much more beautiful and attractive our city hall has become,” said a local resident.

“I saw a picture of the project, and it looks stunning. People will be happy, and children will come here. Overall, this is a very positive development; thank you—it will be wonderful,” another resident said.

“I think this place will be interesting and everyone will like it. It will be especially attractive to young people, and they will often visit,” noted a community member.

This project is being implemented by the Comrat City Hall in collaboration with the German International Cooperation Agency.

"The total budget is 2 million lei, and we expect to complete all the work by November. We will have a beautiful park in front of the city hall. We are grateful for this funding," stated Serghei Anastasov, the mayor of Comrat.

The surface of the renovated square is 1,500 m2. According to the project plan, the developed area will serve as a model for future investments in urban infrastructure and create another attractive, comfortable space for the residents of Comrat.
