Denmark approves new $217 million military aid package for Ukraine

A new Denmark military aid Ukraine package, with a total value of approximately $217 million (1.4 billion Danish kroner), has been approved by the Danish Government and Parliament to boost Danish support for Ukraine.

The Danish Defense Ministry announced the package in a press release, as quoted by Ukrinform.

According to the ministry, $15.4 million will be allocated to financing the so-called "Danish model" in 2025. An additional $57.6 million will support the PURL initiative (Ukraine's Priority List), which will allow the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine. An additional $12.3 million is earmarked for supplying fuel to the Ukrainian forces.

"There is still a great need to support Ukraine's fight for independence. And there is also a need for other countries to contribute," said the Danish Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen.

Since the 2022 Russian invasion began, the total assistance offered by Denmark to Ukraine has reached 71 billion Danish kroner, equivalent to about $11.1 billion.
