Alexandru Munteanu visits Bucharest

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu is on his first official foreign visit to Bucharest since taking office. This morning, he shared a video on his Facebook page, stating, "I am leaving with my government team to meet our friends in Romania and to connect with our supporters on our path toward Europe."

We are traveling to Bucharest with the team to discuss various projects. Together, we are making positive contributions for citizens on both sides of the Prut.

In Bucharest, the Prime Minister will be received at the Cotroceni Palace by the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan. Later, the Prime Minister will meet with Mircea Abrudean, the President of the Senate, and Sorin Grindeanu, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, during a visit to Parliament.

The official reception ceremony, hosted by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, is scheduled for 11:30 AM at the Victoria Palace. Following this, the two prime ministers will have a private meeting, followed by discussions in a plenary session with their official delegations. They will conclude the day with joint press statements.

In the afternoon, the Moldovan Prime Minister will be received at the Elisabeta Palace by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Radu.

According to a press release from the Romanian Government, Ilie Bolojan and Alexandru Munteanu will discuss topics and projects of mutual interest for Moldova and Romania in the current geostrategic context.

The Romanian Government announced, “The visit to Bucharest by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, is also his first foreign visit since taking office as the leader of the Chisinau Government. This visit comes just one day before the Republic of Moldova assumes the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on November 14, a position our neighbors across the Prut will hold for the next six months.”

On the day he took the oath of office, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced that he would travel to Brussels following his visit to Bucharest. Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to renew dialogue with the United States of America.
