CEC: Friday is the final day for campaigning ahead of the November 16 local elections

Campaigning for the local elections on Sunday, November 16, will be prohibited after Friday, November 14, as warned by the Central Electoral Commission. No campaigning is allowed on Saturday or on election day.
According to the Electoral Code, candidates are prohibited from appearing on television or radio broadcasts during this period. Additionally, local public administration and advertisers must remove all electoral materials displayed in public spaces. The only exception to this rule is information that has already been published on the internet, for which the ban does not apply.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reminds all electoral competitors that transfers to or from accounts with the mention "Electoral Fund" are not allowed until the polls close.
Engaging in electoral campaigning during the prohibited period is considered a violation, as stated in Article 52 of the Contravention Code. Those who fail to comply with the law—whether mass media representatives, electoral competitors, or citizens—may face fines ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 lei for individuals and from 5,000 to 7,500 lei for legal entities.
By November 15, all electoral displays in designated areas arranged by local authorities must be completely removed.
The upcoming local elections will take place on Sunday, November 16, in six localities: the village of Ustia (Glodeni district), the commune of Natalievca (Fălești), the commune of Cremenciug (Soroca), the village of Bașcalia (Basarabeasca), the commune of Călinești (Fălești), and the city of Leova (Leova district).
