Dmitry Constantinov resigns; People's Assembly will set the election date on November 27

Gagauz deputies will determine the date for the elections to the People's Assembly during their meeting on November 27. This decision follows a ruling made by the permanent bureau of the regional legislature on November 14. Additionally, at the same meeting, the Presidium acknowledged the resignation of Dmitry Constantinov from his position as Chairman of the People's Assembly. Constantinov stated that his decision to resign was based solely on personal reasons.

“Regarding my resignation from the position of Chairman of the People’s Assembly, a meeting of the Presidium was held in which my resignation was approved. I want to clarify that there was absolutely no pressure from any source—no instructions or directives. I have simply decided to focus on my health, especially since I have 90 unused vacation days,” Constantinov stated in a public announcement.

Another topic discussed during the meeting was the scheduling of elections for the People’s Assembly. The Standing Bureau has decided to address this issue at the November 27 meeting.
