Russian attacks on Ukraine kill 9 civilians, injure 53

Russian attacks against Ukraine killed nine civilians and injured at least 53 people in the last 24 hours, regional authorities reported on November 15, citing The Kyiv Independent.

The heavy toll follows a massive overnight wave of missile and drone strikes targeting cities across multiple regions.

Russian forces launched three Kinzhal ballistic missiles from Russia's Tambov region, as well as 135 drones from Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, Bryansk, and Russian-occupied Crimea, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Ukraine's air defense and electronic warfare intercepted two ballistic missiles and 91 drones.

However, another missile and 41 drones reached their targets in 13 locations. Debris was also recorded falling in four locations, impacting civilian infrastructure.

In the Kyiv region, a Russian attack on the capital killed seven people and injured 36, causing damage in nine districts of Kyiv, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, and Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

In the Kherson region, Russia targeted 34 settlements, including the regional center Kherson, in the last 24 hours. Following the strikes, one person was killed and seven others were injured, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russia struck the Nikopol district, killing a 65-year-old man. Russian forces also attacked the Synelnykove district, injuring a 52-year-old man, Governor Vladyslav Haivanenko reported.

In the Sumy region, Russian strikes injured five people, including a 17-year-old boy in the Sumy community, while an 18-year-old man was injured in the Bilopillia community, according to the local military administration.

In the Donetsk region, one person was injured in the city of Kramatorsk and another in the city of Lyman due to Russian attacks, Governor Vadym Filashkin reported.

In the Kharkiv region, Russia attacked nine settlements, injuring a 59-year-old man in the city of Lozova, Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported.
