Over 1 million lei embezzled: company administrator and accountant jailed

The administrator of a company in the Ștefan Vodă district and its accountant were sentenced to 11 and 10 years in prison, respectively, for crimes including embezzlement, fraud, document forgery, and the presentation of falsified evidence. The Prosecutor General's Office reports that the total damage caused exceeds 1 million lei.
The administrator, 54 years old, and the accountant, 53 years old, have been accused of fictitiously "reestablishing" a previously settled financial obligation, withdrawing 1,310,000 lei, and causing significant damage to the company.
Additionally, the administrator is alleged to have created a false report of the General Meeting of Partners, forging the signature of the other co-associate, and subsequently presenting a notarized document for the authentication of a contract for the sale and purchase of real estate.
In another count of the indictment, both the administrator and the chief accountant are accused of preparing fake loan contracts and falsely presenting themselves as the company's creditors for a total of 1,059,948 lei. In reality, these loans were granted to the company by the other co-associate.
The sentence is not final and can be appealed. If upheld, both individuals will be prohibited from holding certain positions for 5 years.
