Schools urged to submit files to MEC for multilingual instruction

Educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova that wish to implement multilingual education programs involving teaching subjects in different languages are encouraged to submit their applications to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) by December 5th.

The Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) is initiating a pilot program for multilingual education programs from 2025 to 2028. These programs will target primary and secondary education institutions, specifically cycle I and cycle II.

The goal of the multilingual education programs is to enhance students' linguistic skills through an integrated curriculum that utilizes two or more languages as tools for teaching and learning.

The MEC states, "This initiative aims to diversify educational offerings by expanding teaching and learning in multiple languages. Submitting proposals for piloting multilingual education programs is voluntary and depends on the educational institution's preferences and internal implementation capabilities."

By adopting these programs, schools can implement modern learning models aligned with international standards.

The institutions selected to pilot these programs will be chosen by the MEC after reviewing the proposals submitted by December 5, which can be sent to [email protected].
