UN: Almost 10 million Ukrainians have fled their homes since Russia’s invasion

In 2025, approximately 122,000 people left their homes in Ukraine, contributing to a total of nearly 10 million displaced individuals and refugees since the large-scale invasion by Russian troops began in 2022. This information was reported by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), according to DW.
According to the world organization, many of those affected are women, children, and elderly individuals from regions located near the front lines. Those who remain in their homes are facing particularly dire circumstances, as emphasized by representatives from OCHA.
In the Donetsk region, specifically in Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, approximately 1,500 people lack consistent access to water, electricity, and medical services. Additionally, around 3,000 people in the city of Liman are cut off from humanitarian aid due to ongoing fighting.
Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of military personnel and civilians have been killed or injured, OCHA reported.
